Equinix offers our users the ability to try a Network Edge virtual device for 14 days at no cost. Once the trial is complete, you can either renew the trial or convert your account into a non-trial account so you can purchase a virtual device.
Here's how to sign up for your free trial:
- Go to our trial portal, then select the Network Edge from the product catalog
- On the Network Edge product page, select Start Free Trial to begin registration
- Verify your email address to continue.
If you are an existing Equinix customer and are already a registered user of one of our portals, you will be taken directly to the login page.
New Equinix users will receive a one-time password (OTP) that's sent to the email provided during signup.
Next, complete the trial subscription signup.
Once your account is set up and ready for you to log on to the Equinix Cloud Exchange (ECX) portal, you will receive an email with the login instructions and a link to Network Edge documentation. You can then log onto the ECX portal and create a new virtual device from multiple vendors including Cisco, Juniper and Palo Alto Networks.
Note: It takes about 20 minutes for your account to be created on the Equinix Cloud Exchange portal where you can create a new virtual device from multiple vendors including Cisco, Juniper and Palo Alto Networks
Visit the ‘My Subscriptions’ page anytime on the trial portal to see the status of your trial.
You can also renew the trial from the My Subscriptions page a maximum of 3 times.
At any point during the trial period, you can convert your account into a non-trial account to then create a device and go through the purchase flow on the ECX portal. You can do this by selecting Finish Trial and Signup.
When you select Finish Trial and Signup, you will see a popup asking for your confirmation.
Note: when you convert your account from a trial to a non-trial account, you can no longer use or access the devices that you created during the trial. Those devices will get automatically de-provisioned/deleted and you can go through the create device flow to create a new device
