The Inventory section of the portal lists all of your devices and available components.
To view a component or object type, choose it from this screen. In this case, select Virtual Devices to see a list of active devices in your account that are visible with the current permissions.
Select a device by filtering the options based on Vendor name (e.g. Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks) and referring to the icons.
Select a device to view the details of that device. When you are viewing a brand new device that is still being deployed, you may see screens that have several missing fields. Here’s an example:
NOTE: many of the identifiers for the device are missing in the above example. There are several stages to fully activating a device. As each stage is completed, the fields will fill in until it is a fully functional device.
Depending on the size of the device, the depth of the configuration requested and the license registration method and availability of the vendor, it can take anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes or more to reach full readiness.
When the device is fully up and running, the fields will display device details including:
- The device is Provisioned
- The license is Registered
- All support details are populated
Another example of Device details with additional information such as IP Addresses if SD-WAN device type is selected instead of Router (as shown above).
At this stage, any other actions can be taken with the device, including accessing it with SSH or orchestration applications or creating connections.
HA Device Pairing
You can view your virtual devices under Inventory. They're listed in separate tiles. You can also view additional details and make changes by selecting the relevant device tile.
Here is the HA pairing for the two devices tagged as Primary and Secondary.
Additional services including Access IP addresses and Internet bandwidth can be configured separately for each device.
Another important tab is the Connections tab, where you will see any connections that have been created from this device to other destinations, including ECX.
NOTE: these existing connections are identical to and can also be found in the Connections tab of inventory on the portal, although that section of inventory will contain all connections to all destinations and from all sources.
The connection details shown here are the same connection details as from that tab. You can also initiate new connections from your device on this screen.
To view other available features and configurations of your device, choose any of the other tabs under the device to access the associated Connections, see the Services you added before launch or wish to add, edit, or remove, and other activities as dictated by your device and vendor.
