Full Release Notes
This patch includes fixes and enhancements to a few key areas: Capability, Experience, Service, and Security.
1. Capability
1.1 Customers can now connect to other Equinix customers with private profiles.
You can access this feature on the Create a Connection page. Just select I want to connect to: Another ECX Customer. You can search for any other ECX Fabric profiles you have been given access to.
1.2 On-demand sync capabilities for Azure ExpressRoute
On-demand sync capabilities have been updated for Azure connections. Pending BGP connections now also have platform sync.
2. Experience
2.1 Faster Page load performance
Page load time is now even faster than prior releases.
2.2 Layer 2 Service Profiles names
Layer 2 Service Profiles now consistently display the correct names. This fixes a bug where during the create a connection process, Layer 2 Service profile names may not have displayed correctly.
2.3 Username Display
Your username now displays accurately in all places throughout the portal. Previously, some users may have seen an error or null in place of their username.
2.4 Load more connections is renamed Load More
The Load more connections button at the bottom of Your Inventory has been changed from Load more connections to Load more.
2.5 Connection details now display location accurately
Service profiles now display the correct region associated with the account. This fixes a bug where the service profile displayed the wrong region relevant to the account, for example, displaying Japan (JP) instead of United States (US).
3. Service
3.1 Search with Service Key functionality is enabled when Include Incoming connections is selected
You can now search through Incoming Connections when Include Incoming Connections is selected.
3.2 Dashboard's pending action model reloads after user action within the model
After a user accepts/rejects a pending connection, dashboard and inventory pages will automatically reload to reflect the change.
3.3 Parent account level permissions updated
Routing instances can be viewed and edited through parent accounts.
3.4 Switch between private and public connection cards
If you’d like to switch between public and private profiles, you can select or unselect the I want to connect to cards. Change in the type of profiles will display automatically.
3.5 Reseller impersonation connection count
When resellers impersonate users, the Active connections count and all connections display properly.
3.6 Changes to Order Process
Purchase Order number, Seller Region code and Seller Metro code are no longer required to complete a connection. These fields still exist, but are now optional.
3.7 New error message for having No Ports Available
Prior to creating a connection, users whose accounts do not have ECX ports will receive a No Ports Available error message when trying to create a connection. However, users can log in with no ECX Ports available.
3.8 Outgoing/Incoming connections details now display further buyer information
Previously, buyer side information that was present on the classic portal (IP, BGP, ASN, and Prefixes) did not display. Connections now display all these fields for buyer side connections.
3.9 Text change for Create Connection page
During the create a connection process, the phrase “This will be your outer tag” has been removed from the enter a VLAN ID field. This is for Dot.1q buyer port customers. The field still serves the same function – to enter a VLAN ID, and the remaining text should more clear to users.
3.10 The delete button is available for subaccount users
Previously, subaccount users would run into an error when trying to delete. Now, the delete function works as designed.
3.11 Port utilization statistics cards are removed from the portal
Users will no longer be able to see any port utilization statistics. This is a temporary removal of the port utilization statistics card, due to some backend changes.
4. Security
4.1 Security questions enabled
New users will have to complete security questions during the account sign up process. These security questions will allow users to recover their accounts if they have forgotten their password.
